CAVS runs a yearly calendar of high quality key calendar events designed to support individuals, volunteers and business representatives. The variety and scope of activities on offer is wide-ranging, with opportunities to network and help each other. We also run a number of enjoyable community groups at our Benfleet and Canvey Island office locations and places must be booked in advance.
Walk, Talk and Be Healthy
Every Tuesday, Outside Main Front of the Castle Point Council Offices, 10am-12pm
Put Your Best Foot Forward and come along to our lovely Benfleet Waking Group, where you’ll meet friendly people to join up with and walk. It’s a great way to make new friends and discover the great places on your very own doorstep. All are welcome. Walks are not strenuous and suitable for most.
Ageless Inspiration
Every Monday, Runnymede Leisure Centre, Cafe’ 2pm-3.30pm
This community social group comes together to play card games and fun activities in an informal setting, with time for chat and refreshments, supporting each other in a relaxed environment.
Bereavement Support Groups
Every Other Thursday, Benfleet Office 1pm-2.30pm & Every Other Monday, Canvey Office 10am-11.30am
Losing someone we love can feel overwhelming, and it’s not always easy to talk about grief with those around us. CAVS is running local Bereavement Support Groups, offering a safe, understanding space where you can share your feelings, listen to others, and find comfort in knowing you’re not alone.
The group is facilitated by a former Cruse Bereavement Counsellor, bringing warmth, experience, and compassion to gently guide conversations and provide support. Whether you want to talk or simply be in the company of others who understand, you’ll be welcomed.
You don’t have to face grief on your own—come along and take a step towards healing, together.
